Blastrite Platinum Grit Re-Certified under CARB 21st April 2021
21st April 2021, Blastrite Platinum Grit was re-certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as a permissible abrasive media for outdoor abrasive blasting. The certification expires 31st August 2022.
These standards and regulations are used by a variety of other government agencies, regulatory bodies and the U.S. military for evaluating the safety ratings of various blasting materials.
As importantly, CARB approval is used by many facility owners as independent certification for the permissible use of Blastrite as safe to use in their own facilities around the world.
The CARB certification was granted to Blastrite Platinum Grit through CARB Executive Order G-21-152. Please refer to CARB’s own website to view the listing:
In other third-party tests, airborne levels of heavy metals, such as Beryllium and Chromium, were shown to be well under the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs).
